V.O.W.S. Committee was first established at Masjid Ash Shaheed in Charlotte NC under the guidance and inspiration of Allah SWT through Founder and Chair Khalidah Akbar, who invited a Co-Chair and eventually two Administrators.   The committee is 9 years strong and counting 9 marriages,  averaging  a marriage annually during the 9 years Sister Khalidah served as Chair.  Alhamdulillah. Although the committee still functions at Masjid Ash Shaheed the Founder has been invited to expand Allah's inspiration through outreach across the country. Staying true to the original mission, goals, and objectives, expounding the Theoretical Approach beyond marriage with the focus on Building sustainable  individual, family and community life.

 V.O.W.S. is an acronym for Values, One G-d, Worship, and Sincerity. V.O.W.S; is an organization which uses these four principles of the acronym as a strategic approach to marriage and family life.  
V.O.W.S. Committee was established at Masjid is nine years strong, 9 marriages success 
 The Goal is to be a collaborative resource for our community through individual, family, and community analysis via the V.O.W.S. Assessment in conjunction with workshops, social events, and conferences.
